Lexicon PSP42 – a faithful recreation of a classic

PSP Lexicon 42 | PSP Audioware | pluginsmasters

The PSP Lexicon PSP42 Stereo Delay and Phrase Sampler bring you the warmth and flexibility of a renowned classic. Designed to accurately simulate the Lexicon PCM 42, you’ll get legendary vintage delay with realistic tape saturation – all from a digital download that offers pristine signal quality at every processing stage.

Go from subtle ambience to deep, atmospheric effects. The PSP42 gives you total control of your parameters, including modulation, high frequency absorption, and more. Whether it’s tempo-locked feedback delay, smooth, lo-fi sampling, or anything in between, every adjustment feels like it’s being made on a physical tape machine.

From its easy-to-use interface to its bespoke processing algorithm, every nuance of the PSP42 has been fine tuned for flawless quality. No clicks. No pops. Just distinct sound for instruments, vocals, and more.

stompDelay – a highly versatile multi-effect delay plugin

PSP stompDelay | PSP AZudioware | pluginsmasters

This stompbox-style virtual effect plugin produces both mono and stereo-based delays, with a wide range of controls that provide you access to additional effects such as a flanger, chorus and even a tape echo. This versatile plugin is perfect for sound design, allowing you to texturise and manipulate sound on the fly. It even features a built-in LFO (low frequency oscillator) complete with a wide range of waveforms for advanced modulation. Other controls on offer include stereo width, feedback and ping pong delay to name a few.

Controlling delay time is easier than ever, with a range of options to choose from. A standard ‘delay time’ control knob is located in the top right of the interface, accompanied by a Tap Tempo control and a Glide control. One of the most unique ways to set the delay time is the wide-range slider located at the top of the interface running from each side. This allows you to dial in the delay time using a sliding control. This can also be utilised to create tape stop effects and other warping effects.

PSP 85 – classic design meets modern innovation

PSP 85 | PSP Audioware | pluginsmasters

The best of both worlds. You’d be fooled into thinking this an emulation of a classic delay unit by looking at the GUI, but nothing could be further from the truth. The PSP 85 builds on the design of its sibling the PSP 84, providing a range of new enhancements and presets that will blow your mind. Whether your still building your skills or you have years of expertise with audio gear, the PSP 85 will be sure to impress.

The filter section has been greatly improved upon, providing a powerful and versatile filter with multiple options including band, high/low-pass settings. You can also achieve self-oscillation by cranking up the resonance, as well as providing the ability to process the input, feedback or overall signal for added flexibility.

Modulate the delay using the built-in LFO, providing you with five different waveforms to choose from, providing a new and exciting way to interact with your signal. It even features a reverb section with spring and plate settings to choose from. That’s not all, the PSP 85 comes complete with sixty ground-breaking new presets to get you started.

PSP 608MD – a complex delay plugin

PSP 608 MD | PSP Audioware | pluginsmasters

One of the most comprehensive delay plugins on the market, the PSP 608MD gives you all the tools you need to experiment and create something new. This plugin really is a playground for sound designers, providing new and exciting ways to modulate and process signals. The multi-faceted design allows you to achieve everything from classic tape-echo emulation to sounds that will push the limits of a multi-tap delay.

With two main modes (Multidelay and Multitap), the PSP 608MD’s only limit is your creativity and inspiration. The Multitap mode provides you with eight taps which can be independently adjusted for truly cutting-edge results. Each tap also features a myriad of tools including: Selectable feedback, stereo image and position, delay time, multimode filter, modulation, drive/tape saturation, and reverb.

The in-depth modulation section features an integrated LFO and envelope follower, which can be adjusted along three octaves. The filter section provides you with LP, BP, HP filter (either State Variable Filter or Biquad) options complete with versatile controls. You can also select sample rates ranging up to 192kHz, ideal for mixing and mastering applications.

PSP Echo – vintage-style tape delay for the digital age

PSP Echo | PSP Audioware | pluginsmasters

With two channels on offer, the PSP Echo is a virtual tape delay machine, with each channel being able to operate independently. The two channels can also be linked for added flexibility, as well two additional channels for ping-pong delays. The PSP Echo sets out to emulate classic tape machines, similar to tape machines used to pioneer the echoey/delayed sound of Dub.

The thing that sets tape machines apart from conventional delay techniques is the ability to brighten or darken the tone of each successive delay. This resulted in a genre-defining sound that is still used to this day to great effect. The user interface of the plugin is similar to vintage-style echo units providing controls including Wow, TapeSpeed, PingPong, Balance and Spread. If you want a classic sounding delay, the PSP Echo is for you.
