Oxford EQ

Versatility & quality in one EQ plugin

A powerful EQ is essential to any mix. If you mix music, film sound or live shows, you need an EQ plugin that’s up to the task. Enter Sonnox’s flagship Oxford EQ.

This versatile parametric EQ plugin traces its heritage back to the revered, million-dollar Sony OXF-R3 digital console. Now, you can unleash the power of the Sony OXF-R3 from your DAW.

The Oxford EQ features an easy-to-use interface and four distinct EQ types. Whether you’re using it for deep, surgical cuts or broad, gentle mastering curves, the results are always musical and always transparent.

Features

  • 5-band parametric EQ with variable-slope HP/LP filters
  • Four completely different sounding EQ types
  • Clinical EQ similar to the SSL4000 E series
  • Tighter ‘cut’ for removing problem frequencies
  • Classic EQ similar to Neve and SSL G series curves
  • Wide and gentle curves perfect for mastering
  • Automatable A/B compare button toggles EQ settings
  • Ultra-low noise and distortion

Oxford Limiter

A one-of-a-kind limiter plugin

Having crafted and refined your mix, join the growing number of professionals who’ve chosen the Oxford Limiter to deliver maximum loudness, density and presence – whilst retaining the kind of clarity and transient detail that conventional brick-wall limiting can’t.

The Oxford Limiter is a true peak limiter that offers recently enhanced levels of processing and metering accuracy. The result is that you get to see and automatically correct otherwise invisible reconstruction overloads – and conform to the accepted industry ITU-R BS.1770-4 standard.

Whether you’re after the Oxford Limiter’s hallmark transparency or heavier creative effects, its advanced look-ahead processing and unique Enhance function provide the sample-value limiting and musical boost needed to reliably avoid clipping and confidently increase apparent loudness.

Features

  • Peak limiting with attack, release & variable soft-knee
  • Enhance section to increase perceived loudness
  • Recon meter shows actual rather than sampled signal
  • Auto Comp fixes recon errors without losing overall loudness: conforming to the industry’s true peak measurement standard (ITU-R BS.1770-4)
  • Audition and apply TPDF dither for 24-bit and 16-bit output word lengths with four types of variable noise shaping
  • Four variable-strength noise shaping modes for use with highly dynamic program material
  • Full backwards compatibility with previous plugin versions
  • Great library of factory presets to get you started

Oxford Reverb

Create space for your sound

Reverb should sound natural and enveloping, sitting in, rather than on a mix. To achieve this, you need a reverb plugin that can adapt to your requirements. Enter the Oxford Reverb.

The Oxford Reverb is a versatile reverb plugin that allows you to create real space for your sound. With 120 presets as standard, the Oxford Reverb gives you a solid foundation on which to build. From drier ambiences and open reverberant spaces, to sound effects and settings inspired by classic hardware. With so much control to hand, it’s easy to design your own spaces from scratch too.

Designed with the highest technical and sonic performance in mind, the Oxford Reverb is a class-leading stereo reverb plugin with hallmark Sonnox clarity and ease of use. The comprehensive yet intuitive GUI features flexible Early Reflection, Reverb Tail and 5-band Oxford EQ sections, giving you all the tools you need to craft a rich sound space.

Features

  • Extremely flexible stereo modeling reverb
  • Independent paths for Early Reflections and Reverb Tail
  • Paths can be combined or used separately
  • Integrated 5-band Oxford EQ
  • Separation control alters stereo width of input signal
  • Over 120 presets – including Halls, Chambers, Rooms, Ambience and more

Oxford SuprEsser

An intuitive de-esser plugin

Reduce problematic frequencies with ease using the Oxford SuprEsser.

Whether you need to remove harshness from an electric guitar, or simply remove sibilance from a vocal track, the Oxford SuprEsser is the solution.

Operating between 20hz – 20kHz, this plugin goes deeper than your standard de-esser, letting you hear and see problematic frequencies across the full audio spectrum before dialling them out.

Choose between a simple mode, for quick fixes, or the advanced mode for increased functionality.

When you’re sick of sibilant sounds, fire up your SuprEsser.

Features

  • An award-winning Linear Phase Dynamic EQ
  • Transparent and accurate control of aggressive frequencies
  • Auto Level Tracking follows the energy of the input and applies same relative gain reduction as signal level changes perfect to de-ess a vocal that’s quieter in verse than chorus
  • Wet/Dry control for quick parallel processing
  • Full audio spectrum operation (20Hz – 20KHz)

Oxford DeNoiser

Surgical, real-time noise removal plugin

The DeNoiser plugin with its integrated de-hisser delivers surgical broadband noise reduction in real-time.

The process is based on a continual analysis of the input signal in order to build a noise profile. Alternatively use Freeze Mode to sample a section of audio containing just target noise. Simply define the threshold below which noise is removed and use the Reduction slider to taste.

Sonnox understands the delicate balance between removing noise and retaining the character of your original recording, so have added a Warmth control to return some richness and added a DIFF function to audition only the removed noise.

Features

  • Separate DeHiss, Detect & Remove Sections for intuitive use
  • High resolution display of input signal & its noise profile
  • Frequency Bias Curve to fine-tune noise threshold & reduction
  • Mid-Side mode to de-noise only side content
  • Warmth control for sweetening after noise removal
  • Make-up gain for true A/B comparisons

Oxford DeBuzzer

Fast and effective removal of buzz, hum, whine and whistles

Use the intuitive display to help isolate the fundamental frequency – it’ll constantly give you feedback on the top contenders – or define it manually with the help of a tone generator. Don’t worry if the fundamental wanders, the default Auto Tracking Mode will follow it in real time. The harmonics of your problem fundamental frequency will also be tracked. All that remains is to engage the default comb filter or the optional parametric EQ, and then fine-tune the content that’s removed using DIFF auditioning.

Features

  • Ultra high-resolution detection and removal of unwanted: buzz, hum, whine and whistles
  • Separate Detect and Remove Sections for intuitive workflow
  • Very accurate setting of fundamental over 3 frequency ranges
  • Tracking Mode to follow fundamental and its harmonics
  • Comb filter for tight removal over many harmonics
  • Parametric EQ for more musical removal over fewer harmonics
  • Audition removed buzz for confident fine-tuning

Oxford DeClicker

Accurately and transparently remove pops, clicks and crackle

The Oxford DeClicker features three discrete sections for removing pops, clicks and crackle from your sound. Each has a threshold and sensitivity control to define the number of events that are detected and removed. The unique Events Graph shows the level and duration of each pop, click and crackle as it’s detected in three separate colour-coded groups.

Sometimes there will be events detected that represent audio you want to keep rather than remove. So Sonnox built the Exclude Box to further refine the number of repaired events, and also Dialogue Mode for independent control over speech in programme.

Features

  • Three dedicated sections: DePop, DeClick and DeCrackle
  • Graphic feedback of the energy/duration of detected events
  • Excitation displays to help accurately set thresholds
  • Exclude Box to select events that shouldn’t be repaired
  • Dialogue Mode: Independent settings when speech is detected
  • Three audition modes: Listen only to removed events / Full processed signal / Dialogue Mode side-chain
